Our laboratory is focusing attention on the development of simulation techniques for variety of physical phenomena and related technologies to enhance its utilization. Since the target phenomena or solvers are wide-ranging, the framework to help writing solvers is constructing at first. All solvers are going to develop and will be registered on this framework. In order to treat very complex shape in real world robustly, a volume-based modeling as typified by VCAD is used. The simulation system is constructed so as to calculate the phenomena with the volume data directly, that is, VCAD based analysis system can connect all of the process in the simulation such as a modeling, a grid generation, a simulation and a visualization. The throughput of the simulation cycle can be reduced by using this system, and then the turnaround time of the simulation can be shorten. In addition, our team is developing pre/post-system and a novel data structure for large distributed computing. The developed simulation system will be applied to the design process of products, medical technology, the understand for the transport phenomena in the living body and the cell as the tangible applications.
